Teaser
When Cannon’s lips parted, sending his tongue to meet with mine, I thought I was going to faint. Without a beating heart, without a chest to heave with heavy breaths, my body tingled instead, sending wave after wave of sweet shivers throughout my entire being.
His hands were warm against my back, the dewy skin of his face hot against mine when his lips left their mark to kiss my neck just below my ear. I tilted my head, sending a cascade of chestnut locks against my wings.
“Ashley, you have no idea how much I want you right now – all of you.” Cannon’s voice was deeper than a whisper but soft, muffled against the inside collar of my robe.
“I want you too, Cannon.” I said without the inconvenience or interruption of having to catch my breath between kisses.
As our kissing continued, Cannon’s grip upon me became heavier and desperate. I pulled him closer in return, wanting him to press hard against me, giving in to our emotions. My wings were tight, aching against my back. Cannon’s wings were firm, pulsing as his muscles flexed.

Interview
How long did it take you to write Hollywood
Angels?
It took about 3 months to write the first draft.
Then after three-weeks-worth of edits, the final draft was ready for a round
with my beta readers.
I work full-time as a high-school English
teacher, so it’s hard to find the time to write. The story was in my head
almost immediately after finishing AMATEUR ANGEL, so I was more than ready to
get the words down.
What makes you like to write?
Writing puts me in a special zone, a place where
the plot and all of the characters in my head can find a home. There’s nothing
more satisfying than setting a goal to write 50 pages a week and meeting it.
Who is your favorite author and why?
Charles Dickens is my favorite author. He was an
absolute genius! I fell in love with GREAT EXPECTATIONS after reading it when I
was in 9th grade. Victorian author’s in general rock my socks.
What are your favorite things to do besides
writing?
Every Friday and Saturday night, my husband and I
sit outside together in our courtyard and drink a glass of wine. It’s so
relaxing, and it gives us a chance to catch up on the things we missed talking
about during the week due to our busy schedules. Having that special time
together is one of my favorite things. I also love to jog. I can’t tell you
have many storylines I’ve concocted in my head while jogging through our
neighborhood.
Who is your favorite character in your book and
why?
Cannon Michaels is my favorite character. He’s
handsome, athletic, and plays an electric guitar. I’ve always been partial to
the lead singers of rock bands, so Cannon is right up my alley. He may be
spontaneous, rebellious, and hot-headed at times, but his soft, nurturing side
makes up for it.
When you were little, what did you want to be
when you “grew up”?
When I was very little, I wanted to be a doctor.
Dissecting a fetal pig in high school biology class put an end to that. I
started San Diego State as a psychology major, but after my English 100
professor told me I was the best writer in the class and it was a shame I
wasn’t majoring in English, I switched majors and focused on becoming an
English teacher. At that point I also decided I’d write a book someday. Many
years past, but I finally did it. Whew!
Any other books in the works? Goals for future
projects?
My next novel, MIRROR X, is the first in a
trilogy being published by Entangled Publishing. It’s due to release this year,
hopefully by April. Nothing is set in stone yet. It’s hard to talk about the
plot of that book without giving too much away. I will say that it’s a very
compelling YA dystopian different from any others out there.
I already started the third and last book in my
Angel series and hope to launch it before the end of the year, and after a trip
to Germany last year, I have plans for a contemporary YA romance.
If you could sum up your main character into five
words, what would they be?Ashley
is brave, determined, compassionate, beautiful, and a bit naïve.
