Synopsis

The explosive conclusion to the series reviewers have likened to Ender’s Game and “Hogwarts-in-Space”

This exhilarating, explosive, and heartrending conclusion to the Insignia trilogy brings Tom and his intelligent, passionate, and brave young friends stunning tests and dangerous confrontations and through to an impossible future they could never have predicted.

Tom Raines and his friends are eager to return to the Pentagonal Spire to continue training for the elite Intrasolar Forces, but they soon discover troubling changes: strict new regulations and the revelation that the Spire is under new military control. What begins as an irritating adjustment soon reveals a dangerous shift in reality. Those now in control are aligned with corporate sponsors and their ruthless agendas. And when the military academy begins welcoming new cadets with suspicious neural processors, the first step in a plan with horrifying worldwide ramifications, Tom is desperate to stop it, even if that means keeping secrets from his closest allies.

Then a mysterious figure, the other ghost in the machine, begins fighting against the corporations, but with methods even Tom finds shocking. And when the enemy comes for Tom, how much can Tom endure in the battle to save himself? He must decide if he can still fight when the odds of success seem to be sliding from his grip.

S.J. Kincaid was born in Alabama, grew up in California, and attended high school in New Hampshire, but it was while living beside a haunted graveyard in Scotland, that she realized that she wanted to be a writer. Her debut, Insignia, came out in July of 2012. The second book in the series, Vortex came out in July of 2013. The final book in the INSIGNIA trilogy will come out in Fall of 2014.

Book Blitz {Giveaway} THE FREQUENT FLYERS COLLECTION ~ featuring Fly Me To The Moon by Bev Elle

Book Blitz for Frequent Flyers

Featuring "Fly Me To The Moon" by Bev Elle

Cover 1

Fly Me To the Moon Cover

Coming November 1, 2014!

Summary - FmttM

by Bev Elle
Ticketing agent Jessamy Taylor has been in a dating slump exacerbated by moving her sickly mother into her home. The truth is she's never gotten over the quirky Dr. Griffin Sanderson whose Obsessive Compulsive Disorder drives her crazy, despite his excellent bedside manner.
Fly Me To The Moonis a love song covered by many, the most memorable being Frank Sinatra. Griffin whistles this tune incessantly, but that’s just one of the many odd quirks Jessamy Taylor either loves or hates about him. Since their ill-fated love affair two years prior, she’s found no one to replace the good doctor.
A date that goes awry for Jessamy somehow ends with her in Griffin’s arms. Will the changes he’s made be enough this time, or will secrets tear them apart?

Excerpt 1

“I have a couple of bottles of that merlot you like that we got in St. Augustine that one time. Would you like to share it with me tonight?”
A nightcap between friends. Jessamy could think of nothing she’d like better at the moment.
“I’d be delighted.”
There was something different about Griffin. An undercurrent of confidence bordering on a swagger he had not possessed before. Jessamy could feel her body responding to this handsome, virile version of the man she had known so intimately before. She squeezed her thighs together and thought of the commanding heights they achieved when he made love to her, only to descend into agonizing depths once the deed was done, and then she relaxed her thighs.
When they arrived at his home, he took her hand and pulled her into the kitchen where he held a seat out for her at the gigantic island at its center, then opened the door to the pantry he’d turned half into a wine rack and retrieved the two bottles in question.
“You know, I feel bad enough after that failed date to drink both of those bottles myself,” she said.
Griffin hesitated as he set one and then the other on the bar in front of her. “I could bring out more,” he said.
“Just kidding,” she said with a grin. “If I drank both, you’d probably end up holding my hair at the end of the evening, and that’s not a good look on me.”
His mouth quirked up on one side as he reached into the cabinets and brought out pristine stemware. When he carried everything to his sitting room, they got comfortable on the sofa; soft music played in the background, and Griffin poured them both a generous glass and proposed a toast.
“To old friends starting over as new friends,” he said and touched his glass to hers. Clearly, Griffin wanted another chance with her, but she wasn’t sure if she could withstand what them being together again would entail.
Jessamy proposed a lighter, less intimate toast. “To creepy dates. May neither of us have any of those ever again!”
“Here, here,” Griffin said, and they drank almost in perfect synchronicity.
“So these are really the last two bottles of that case you bought?” Jessamy took another sip, the smoky, natural sweetness bursting on her tongue.
“Yes. I gave a few bottles away as gifts, because I really never wanted to drink it with anyone besides you.”
She turned away slightly embarrassed by the earnestness in his eyes and in his words.

Week 10: Strings by G. Miki Hayden

Robert, an ordinary boy, finds himself in a newly chaotic world. Buildings move when and where they please, and time jumps around according to no known laws of physics. For Robert, getting to his regular school in the morning is next to impossible. As for getting home...

But then, Holden—a boy he and his friend, Nila, meet in a cave—offers them a string. No, not twine, but a string of the kind that forms the universe. Teeny and tiny, and invisible to the naked eye, this string will take Robert and Mila to their homes and way, way beyond...

Accompanied by a memorable cast of characters, Robert and his friends follow the string on a journey across time, space, and dimensions to discover the answer to a mystery: Who has caused the world to fall apart?

Buy it from: Amazon  Barnes & Noble

EXCERPT:

Holden stood up, suddenly excited. “Yes, strings, Robert, strings. String theory says we live in a universe of multiple dimensions. Something is happening to the strings that form our everyday world, and now the universes are bleeding over into one another—merging. I have to figure out how to stop it, to separate the worlds again.”

“And we have to figure out how to get home,” Nila cried out. “What a mess everything is.”

The smoke from the small fire had made Robert’s eyes tear.

Blog Tour ~ The Power Couple by Tyffani Clark Kemp

The Power Couple
Without Rules Series # 3
By- Tyffani Clark Kemp
Publication Date- September 11, 2014

After the loss of her husband and her preterm baby, Mariss Red is finally starting to put her life back together. She's in a semi-stable relationship and her publishing business is doing well. None of that can fill the hole in her heart, but she's a survivor. Her newest obstacle? Maneuvering the hazy boundaries of an open relationship with a man who can't be bound by rules.

Sebastian Boa, The Man Without Rules, struggles to live an honorable life. Mariss meets and approves any woman he happens to bring home and things are going well, aside from the occasional miscommunication. It's bound to happen, since he's never been in a steady relationship before. But he knows Mariss is keeping something from him, and he knows it's probably another man.

A trip to Paris is meant to be a romantic break for the strange couple, but it ends up in disaster when Sebastian catches Mariss with her secret lover. Add a crazed fangirl trying to seduce Sebastian, a man who has found that rules just might work for him after all. If it means he keeps Mariss in his life. It seems The Power Couple may never catch a break.

And here is an Excerpt from  The Power Couple

Sebastian's hands clamped tight around her waist and his lips pressed to her ear. “We can if you want."
“No. Let me go, Sebastian." He released her and Mariss ripped her clothes off and got in the shower. “She looks a lot like me," she said. The water was too hot so she turned it down.
“She has similarities, but she's not you by far."
“Well, that's good to know."
“Mariss, nothing happened."
“She doesn't seem to think that."
“Well, I don't know why she wouldn't. The most that happened was…“
Mariss shook her head as he trailed off. “What? Did you go back to her room?"
“Yes."
“Did you get undressed? How far did you make it before the sounds she was making weren't enough like mine?"
“Oh, my god. Mariss." Sebastian growled and it was sexier than she would have liked for the situation. “I took my shirt off, alright? She wanted me to feel some fabric-"
“You fell for that?" She actually laughed because it was so ridiculous.
“She's a designer."
“I don't care what the fuck she is. You should have told me."
“There hasn't been the chance."
“Whatever. Sebastian, I think I just need some space." The words were out before she could stop them, but she meant them nonetheless. Fear and pain flickered through Sebastian's beautiful blue eyes and he rocked back gently as if struck by her words before he regained his composure.
“Where will you go?"
“I don't know. I just need…”
“To be away from me?" He sounded angry, but Mariss knew he was covering his hurt with the other emotion.
“Yes. And your dumbfuckery. I swear, Bassy. Get in this fucking shower with me before I rip your clothes off."

Blog Tour ~ Just About Healing by Victoria Escobar

Just About Healing
By- Victoria Escobar
Genre- NA Contemporary

My sister was my lifeline, my beacon, my North Star. I could rely on her, depend on her, turn to her when the world was just too hard to face. She could depend on me for the same.

I laughed with her; cried with her; rejoiced her success; and part of me died with her too. I lived for her, loved no one greater than her. Without Savannah, I had no one to turn to, no one to share my soul with. My other half, closer than twins we were, was just gone.

Grief broke my soul and crushed my heart to dust. I didn’t know how to put the pieces back together. I wasn’t sure I even want to without her. How could I live knowing she would never share anything with me again?

Time, supposedly, heals all wounds. I don't believe that. But I do know there are other ways to heal. I just had to find them.

And now an Excerpt from Just About Healing

I wandered into my studio at some point. Tried to paint out the grief. The only thing that occurred was a riot of color swirling around the canvas like water swirling in a drain pipe, and in the center a giant black hole sucking up all the color. It was how I felt. I was losing everything. I was to the black hole of grief, and I couldn’t make it stop.

The thought made me so angry I smashed up the studio. I screamed and raged as I threw container after container of paint at an invisible foe. Paint and glass was strewn everywhere. Blank, broken canvases littered the floor. Everything was in shambles except that easel holding that one painting. Even in anger I couldn’t destroy art, no matter how terrible.

When at last my grief overcame my strength, I crumpled to the floor. The broken glass scattered about cut into my bare legs, my cheek, and my arm and went unnoticed. The paint that stained my hair and nightshirt was ignored. There was nothing left in me to feel anything at all. The vortex of darkness had consumed all I was.

I was weeping uncontrollably when Jo finally rushed in. I vaguely remember hearing her curse as glass crunched under her practical shoes and the low rumble of what could have been Douglass’s voice as I was scooped up off the floor.

“This has to stop Evelyn.” She dumped me into the bath before carefully pulling off the damaged shirt and washed me like a newborn. It wasn’t the first time she’d done so, and I noticed about as much as I had the first time. She was vigilant in removing all the paint and glass. “You can’t follow Grace. Not yet.”

“Nothing matters anymore. There’s nothing left to live for.” My voice was unrecognizable to my ears, raw from screams and tears, and scratchy from disuse.

“You have Grace to live for.” She returned. “You need to live for her, too.”

I sighed. “I don’t have the heart.”

“You do.” She insisted. “You’re just buried in grief. It can’t get better until you come out of the darkness. Stop hiding.”

I blinked at her with confusion even as she lifted me from the tub and wrapped me in a heavy robe. “I’m not hiding.” I murmured in denial. “I can’t feel anything anymore. It’s gone. Even the art is gone.”

Ethan raised himself up on his elbow and pressed his finger into the space between my eyebrows.

“I wish I could make this go away,” he said softly.

“Don’t tell me I have wrinkles,” I said, my lame attempt at a joke making him crack a little smile.

“No,” he said, dragging his finger lightly down my cheek. “In fact, you couldn’t be more beautiful.”

I just laughed, I didn’t have anything even resembling a witty comeback in me.

“You are,” he continued. “It’s killing me that I can’t take all this pain away from you.”

He ducked his head for a second before meeting my eyes again. “I would do anything to make it easier for you, you know.”

I swallowed and stared at his earnest expression, overcome by his words. “I know you would.”

Ethan ran his hand through my hair. “Good.”

I twisted to face him, tentatively bringing my hands up to his shoulders. “I’m really glad you’re here.”

His lashes lowered, hiding his eyes. I smoothed my fingers up his neck and pulled him to me, kissing him softly.

He returned the kiss and there was something so tender about the way he held my face in his hands. Like I was precious.
