Rescue animals need love too. That’s why these nine authors got together to write stories that will warm your heart and entertain. All proceeds will go to animal shelters to help take care of and save the lives of the animals that may become your next family member. There’s a little something for everyone.

About the Authors-

Michael Williams
(The Pride)
Michael G. Williams is the author of numerous novels (Perishables, Tooth & Nail, Deal with the Devil) and such short stories as "The Several Monsters of Saint Sara-La-Noire" (ThemeThology: Invasion) and "Daddy Used to Drink Too Much" (Wrapped in Red), "His Shrine to Santa Muerte" (Wrapped in White), and "Stories I Tell to Girls" (Wrapped in Black), a trilogy published across three Sekhmet Press anthologies. Michael lives in Durham, North Carolina, with his partner and two ridiculously spoiled rescue cats.

Laura DeLuca
(Nine Lives)
Laura “Luna” DeLuca lives at the beautiful Jersey shore with her husband and four children. In addition to writing fiction, Laura is also the editor of a popular review blog called New Age Mama. Her works include romantic thrillers, paranormal fiction, contemporary romance, and young adult.
Let me know if this is okay. Should have the edits back to you by tomorrow.I did go through and accepted all your changes but I want to read it through one more time for type-os and I have to wait until the kids are in bed :)

Karli Rush
(Nine Lives)
Karli Rush was born in the heart of Cherokee Nation and lives in its capital.  Her Native American heritage holds sway over her writing in many ways. She has the patience of a brain surgeon operating under fire in a war zone. You can chalk that up to her being the mother of an autistic kiddo. With the passion of a starving artist, she writes. The obsession to tell her tales have led her to write novels in the worlds of Dark Paranormal, Romance, Dystopian, and Vampires. She walks in two worlds, one grounds her and the other frees her imagination.

Allana Kephart and Melissa Simmons
(The Disturbance)
Allana Kephart has been making things up and bending people to her will from a very young age. She loves animals and reading and spends a large amount of time thinking up ways to torment her characters. Melissa Simmons is an avid reader who married her soul mate and is the proud mother of a spoiled cat. She spends her days helping promote independent authors and doing what the voices in her head tell her to. They share a brain, a love of coffee and the color purple.

Emily Walker
(Cats)
Emily Walker loves creating worlds and stumbling around in them. She is constantly losing her chap-stick, and has an obsession with the color pink. Currently a resident of the mountains and loving the view she writes mostly paranormal fiction, and horror. Her small family consists of her red bearded other half, a rat terrier named Rebel, and a cat called Mr. Creepy.

Miranda Stork and Trish Marie Dawson
(A Tale of Two Kitties)

Miranda’s bio:
I live in the middle of a forest in North Yorkshire, spending my spare time as the wild woman of the woods, scaring small children and upsetting the sheep. On the days that I feel like being civilized, or I haven't got any unicorns to ride, I sit down and pour the tumbling thoughts in my head out onto digital paper and turn them into paranormal/gothic books. I like taking the classical myths and monsters and giving them a new, contemporary twist, then make them into something that readers can lose themselves in.

Trish's bio:
Trish was born and mostly raised in San Diego, California USA. She lives there now with her family and furbabies. When she's not homeschooling or pretending to do chores, she's reading and writing.

Writer of Fantasy Fiction, Paranormal, YA/NA, Mystery, Horror...
The Find Me Series and the Station Series are available online at Amazon, B&N, Kobo and iTunes, as well as The Well Collector and the collaborative anthology, Once Upon A Twisted Time.

Carolyn Wolfe
(Miracle Paws)
Carolyn Wolfe is a free-lance writer, published poet, and author of eight books, which range from poetry to  fantasy and includes children's literature. Her body of work includes writing articles for newspapers and newsletters,  and hosting poetry events in the Winchester,VA area where she lives with her photographer husband, Scott and her  house full of animal companions.

Taisheena Rayne
(Win, Place or Show)
I am a koala bear sleeping between 18 to 22 hours per day, just ask my (grown) kids.

I have always loved to read. I love how you can be in another world, where heroes always succeed and romance blooms.

Now I create my own worlds where heroines can save the day, love survives and maybe just maybe, dragons are the good guys.

Shauna Wilhelm
(Fostering Hope)
Shauna grew up always liking to write, even doing a program in high school called power of the pen called power of the pen which was a competitive creating writing group.  After that she mainly just wrote poems, which was an outlet to express her emotions to everyday situations rather than keeping them bottled up inside.  This is the first time she has branched out into writing more than a poem and it is also the first time she is sharing her work for someone to read.

Book Blitz {Excerpt & Giveaway} Burdened (Book 1) by Peiri Ann

Burdened (Book 1)
by Peiri Ann
Release Date: April 2014

Summary from Goodreads:
Eighteen-year-old Tracey Warren is a ‘run-of-the-mill’ high school student on the verge of graduation. She has her friends and her fun; she has life all figured out. Or she thought she did.

Her pedestrian reality crashes around her after an innocuous touch from a diabolically handsome stranger. Just one touch from Nathan Newcomb and her head and her world spins out of control. Soon she discovers that the only cure for the uneasy feelings and pain is Nathan himself. A man whose very existence balances between violent chaos and rigidly controlled dangers.

Nathan knows that the life of a woman mated to a burdened Sephlem is destined for peril beyond a human’s reckoning. But Tracey calls to his desire to experience love in spite of the hazards. And Nathan’s impossibly potent magnetism draws Tracey into a bonding that will put her in mortal danger again and again.

Once the pair becomes one, the threat escalates and nowhere is safe. There are enemies that lurk behind every corner. But the greatest danger may be in the bloodlines that course through Nathan’s veins.

Can a love for all time survive or will their burdened souls surrender and fade away?

(Warning: Burdened contains mature contact and strong language some may not find appropriate for readers under the age of 18.)

Excerpt

Scott stays at least ten blocks away from us. This is going to be a long walk.

“So, I’m the first guy you’ve ever introduced to your mom as your boyfriend?”

I feel my cheeks warm. “Yeah, I don’t introduce my mom to guys. I haven’t cared much about her meeting them, especially if I wasn’t sure they would stick around.”

“So you met my family; I met your mom. I think we can make this official, so the next time you’re introducing me and what I am to you, you won’t have to think about it.”

“So us meeting each other’s family is what makes us official? What about the whole having sex part?”

“Hey!” He throws up his hands. “You’re the one who’s uncertain. I know what you are to me.”

“And what is that?”

He throws his arm around me. “You’re my mate, my girl, my love, my heart—and my future wife and mother of my children, when we are both ready.” He double steps. “No confusion here.” This is free-and-relaxed Nathan—light voice and not intense. This ‘him,’ makes me incredibly comfortable, like he’s normal.

“Clearly,” I say. “But I wasn’t confused. I just didn’t know how to introduce you to her. Like I said, I’ve never done it before, and I didn’t know how she was going to react.”

“She was cool about it. Not a hair out of place. I think she likes me.”

“She might. I think she just thinks you’re cute.”

“Do you think I’m cute?”

“I think ‘cute’ is an understatement. When God made you, he was breaking all the limitation rules.”

“You think God made me?” he asks, more serious.

“Of course. Who else?”

“Well, considering I’m half demon and all.”

“It’s not what you’re made of, it’s what you make of yourself. You make who you are—no one else. We are not who we are because of where we come from or what people make us out to be, but because of what we want to be.

“You’re not a demon,” I continue. “You just possess demon behaviors, but you know that, you don’t let it consume you, and you’ve bettered yourself—which means you were made by God and not by a demon.”

He doesn’t respond. I stay quiet too, holding onto his hand that hangs over my shoulder.

My mom’s words start playing back in my head. I can’t imagine what it is that they want to talk about. And keeping a clear schedule for two days? When my dad comes back, we usually do things as a family, staying out all day or going away for a few days.

To be without Nathan for a full day makes me remember that ache in my chest.

“What are you thinking about, babe?”

“Keeping a clear schedule.”

About the Author
I fell in love with the short story writing after I started reading a lot of fiction fantasy. I loved the idea of creating new worlds and placing people to live within them. Then came the love. Awe...love. Specifically I love to write paranormal romance, adding a twist to everyday life. I'm a lover of YA and NA, but I've written some middle grade fantasy fiction that is soon to be released.

You can never write 'too much,' you can never read 'too much,' you never learn 'too much,' and there is never 'too much' imagination and creation. Everyday is a new day to dream, to create, to love, to try again and again, to live, and to explore. Time may be short but we have to take as much of it as we can, to make sure it doesn't slip away.
My moto, "Love Life's Loves because Life Loves You"

If you love something, do what you need to do to have it, the only person holding you back is you.

Book Blast {Excerpt & Giveaway} Meow If It's Murder by Toni LoTempio

Meow if its murder
Meow If It's Murder
by L.C. LoTempio

Nora Charles doesn’t believe in fate, even if she is a crime reporter who shares a name with a character from The Thin Man. In fact, she’s moving back to Cruz, California, to have a quieter life. But after finding an online magazine eager for material, and a stray cat named Nick with a talent for detection, Nora’s not just reporting crimes again. She’s uncovering them…

Back in her hometown, Nora reconnects with old friends and makes some new ones, like Nick, the charming feline who seems determined to be her cat. But not everything about Cruz is friendly. Writing for a local online magazine, Nora investigates the curious death of socialite Lola Grainger. Though it was deemed an accident, Nora suspects foul play. And it seems that her cat does too.

Apparently, Nick used to belong to a P.I. who disappeared while investigating Lola Grainger’s death. The coincidence is spooky, but not as spooky as the clues Nick spells out for her with Scrabble letters—clues that lead her down an increasingly dangerous path. Whether fate put her on this case or not, solving it will take all of Nora’s wits, and maybe a few of Nick’s nine lives.

Toni
Author Toni LoTempio

While Toni Lotempio does not commit – or solve – murders in real life, she has no trouble doing it on paper. Her lifelong love of mysteries began early on when she was introduced to her first Nancy Drew mystery at age 10 – The Secret in the Old Attic. She lists among her favorite mystery/suspense writers Erle Stanley Gardner, Mary Higgins Clark and James Patterson, as well as EJ Copperman, Steve Hockensmith, Victoria Laurie, Ali Brandon, Rita Mae Brown, Miranda James and Sofie Kelly to name only a few! Toni is also passionate about her love for animals, as demonstrated with her four cats: Trixie, Princess, Maxx and, of course, ROCCO, who not only provided the inspiration for the character of Nick the cat in the Nick and Nora mystery series, but who also writes his own blog and does charity work for Nathan Fillion’s charity, Kids Need to Read! Toni’s also devoted to miniseries like The Thorn Birds, Dancing with the Stars, reruns of Murder She Wrote and Castle (of course!). She (and ROCCO, albeit he’s uncredited) pen the Nick and Nora mystery series from Berkley Prime Crime – the first volume, MEOW IF ITS MURDER, debuts Dec. 2, 2014. She, Rocco and company make their home in Clifton, New Jersey, just twenty minutes from the Big Apple – New York.

Meow if its murder

Excerpt

My friend cut me an eyeroll, a sure indication she thought I was full of, as the French would say, merde. “The only other thing she saw was that this mission had to do with something that was switched.”

I wrinkled my nose. “Something switched? Like what? That’s not much of a clue.”

Chantal shrugged. “What can I say? Sometimes the images come over a bit…clouded, shall we say? We have to interpret them the best we can.” She hunkered over the pile of cards before her and flipped over the one closest to her. “Well, well,” she murmured. “On a much better note, it looks like there is love in your future, chérie.”

I let out a squeal and gave her arm a playful punch. “So now you’re reading my cards? Please don’t. I do so hate when you do that.”

“That is because you do not open yourself up to the universe.”

“I wouldn’t say that. I’m very open. Just not to portents and omens.”

She shook her curls. “You are practical to a fault. Just once I’d like to see you let yourself go – believe in the unbelievable. The world is a wonderous place, if you only open yourself up to all the possibilities.”

I hesitated, and then shrugged. “Oh, what the hell. Hit me.”

She plucked a second card from the pile. “The King of Swords crosses your card,” she said. “That means a dark handsome stranger will shortly enter your life and sweep you off your feet.”

I rolled my eyes. “You can tell that from one card?”

“Not just from the card – the vibe. And this is a strong vibe, very strong indeed.”

Uh-huh. I’d heard all this before from my friend, in many ways, shapes and forms, and a handsome stranger, dark or otherwise, had yet to make an appearance in my life. “Well, when he shows up you’ll be the first to know. I’m not holding my breath.”

Chantal glanced at the clock on the wall and jumped up. “Oh zut – I am late for my shift at the flower shop. Remy will kill me.” She swept her tarot cards into their velvet pouch, tucked them inside her tote, and ambled toward the front door. Her French accent slipped a bit as she said, “Try not to work too hard, willya? You’ve been looking a little peaked lately.” She opened the front door and stopped still. “Well, well,” she murmured, accent back in full force as she shot a swift glance over one shoulder. “Come quickly, chérie. This will teach you to have more faith in my predictions. There is a dark, handsome stranger out here who wants to see you.”

“You’re kidding.” I moved forward and looked over Chantal’s shoulder. The street outside was deserted. I cocked a brow at my friend. “There’s no one here.”

Her tongue clucked against the roof of her mouth. “You are not looking in the right place.”

Chantal pointed down. I followed her finger and beheld her dark, handsome stranger.

A stocky, black-and-white cat.

Pre-Order Blast ~ Whispers by H.K. Savage

Whispers
By- H.K. Savage
Genre- NA Romantic Paranormal Suspense
Expected Publication Date- December 9th, 2014
**ABNA Quarterfinalist**

“Your daughter is special”

Special, that was an interesting word for it. More like broken. Broken and scared she was losing her mind. Or maybe she’d already lost it. Thoughts, images, ideas that had no business in the mind of a child raced through her brain, taking over her consciousness until all she could do was shut down and let them run. There was no room for her. Maybe there wasn’t really a “her” underneath all the noise. The only thing that tethered her to her body, to the here and now was the pain. Careful always to hide the marks, Natalie relied on her knife to feel alive.

Sent to a college she couldn’t remember applying to on a scholarship she didn’t try for, Natalie clung to the hope that she could hide her madness from the family it was destroying. Alone at last she would finally have some modicum of peace, right?

Luka took the assignment reluctantly. In his Senior year, she was the last “special” student he would have to work with before heading off to intern and hopefully land the job, start the life his family had planned for him. The same one they wanted for his sister before she took her life.

Two broken souls with a rare ability in common, Luka and Natalie form a friendship that promises to heal them both until fate intervenes. Faced with a lie so great it threatens all Natalie has come to believe, she must make a choice: lie down and accept it or fight for those she loves.

Blog Tour {Excerpt & Giveaway} Under a Georgia Moon by Cindy Roland Anderson

Under a Georgia Moon
by Cindy Roland Anderson

Addie Heywood thought she was doing okay after her fiancé dumped her just weeks before their wedding, claiming he’d found someone else more compatible with his health food tastes. But when he marries the other woman three months later, Addie needs to get away. Leaving her home in Idaho, she escapes to Mitchel Creek, Georgia to visit her Aunt Janie. She just wants to spend the next two weeks enjoying her aunt’s southern cooking, not dodging the guys her aunt is determined to set her up with.

Chase Nichols isn’t looking for love. His dream is to trade his computer mouse for his guitar and make it big in the country music world. If he can land a job in Nashville, he might have a shot at getting discovered. His plans get derailed when he does his neighbor a favor and picks up her niece, Addie, at the airport. Things get even more complicated when his ex-girlfriend comes back into the picture. That’s when he hatches a new plan. Since Addie wants to avoid her aunt’s matchmaking schemes, and he wants to avoid his ex-girlfriend, they’ll fool the world by pretending to date. What neither of them counts on is actually falling in love.

Excerpts

“You?” Addie said in disbelief. “You’re the friend my aunt sent?”

A slow, mischievous grin tipped his mouth. “Yes, ma’am.”

She stared at him, wondering if he was telling her the truth. “But…she said an old friend of hers was coming to get me.”

“I am an old friend of hers.”

Addie made a quick perusal of her surroundings, searching for an older gentlemen holding helium balloons. For all she knew Pretty Boy here could’ve stolen the sign since she’d mentioned it earlier.

“If you are who you say you are then where are the balloons?”

“I left them in my truck.”

A likely story.

He started to laugh. “Look, I didn’t knock anyone off, if that’s what you’re thinkin’.”

It had been what she was thinking. “Then where did you get that sign?”

“From your Aunt Janie.”

“How did you know her name was Janie?”

That little smirk was back on his handsome face. “Because she’s known me since I was a kid.”

“Oh, really.” Addie leaned in close. “Then what’s her last name?”

“Caldwell.”

Drat. How did he know that? Unless, of course, he was telling the truth. “I’m going to need to call my aunt just to be sure. Could you give me your name?”

“Are you sayin’ you really don’t remember meeting me?”

“Well, yeah. You just helped me get my bag but I don’t remember us exchanging names.”

He grinned. “I meant before today. Chase Nichols? That doesn’t ring a bell?”

Addie’s mouth dropped open. “You’re Chase Nichols?” Her eyes skimmed over every inch of him.

He was a lot taller and so much hotter. “You used to be short.”

Again, the smirk. “I had a late growth spurt.”

Praise for Under a Georgia Moon

“This is just the kind of sweet romance that I love. I thought the plot was fun and the writing well done, was paced well and kept me wanting more. Throw in some swoony moments and I was hooked.” –Kathy (Bookworm Nation)

“Often times when I read multiple books by the same author I am worried that the later books won't live up to the first one. That is NOT the case with Under a Georgia Moon. I was hooked on Cindy Anderson's writing with Fair Catch and then again with Discovering Sophie and now with this book.” –Sara Ebert

I love all of Cindy's books, but so far this one is my favorite! I just didn't want it to end. Definitely a book that I will read over again. –Dana Weaver
