From a New York Times bestselling author and Caldecott-honor winning artist comes an exuberant illustrated story about playing dress up, having fun, and feeling free.

The boy loves to be naked. He romps around his house naked and wild and free. Until he romps into his parents' closet and is inspired to get dressed. First he tries on his dad's clothes, but they don't fit well. Then he tries on his mom's clothes, and wow! The boy looks great. He looks through his mom's jewelry and makeup and tries that on, too. When he's discovered by his mother and father, the whole family (including the dog!) get in on the fun, and they all get dressed together.

This charming and humorous story was inspired by bestselling and award-winning author Peter Brown's own childhood, and highlights nontraditional gender roles and self-expression.

RELEASE BLITZ & GIVEAWAY ~ Moonlit Sight by Britni Hill

Title: Moonlit Sight
Author: Britni Hill
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Cover Designer: MiblArt Cover Design
Publication Date: May 4th, 2021
Hosted by: Lady Amber’s PR

Blurb:

What’s a girl to do when she loses her job, her best friend goes missing, and she starts to see, hear and feel things that aren’t there?

Moonlight Grove is a small, peaceful town full of familiar faces. It’s perfect. Until my best friend, Lucy Warren, goes missing.

Enter Simon Caldwell.

The man is attractive. A bit mysterious, and a new face in my sleepy little town. He’s a paranormal investigator who’s come to Moonlight Grove looking into reports of the supernatural kind. It all sounds like good TV to me. When I begin experiencing things I can’t explain, he may be the only one who can help.

Maybe there’s more to Lucy than meets the eye. What if her disappearance is linked to all the crazy things happening?

With Simon’s help, I’m determined to find her and to ignore the way he makes me feel while I do it.

Small little thumps come from Lucy’s bedroom, and I stop moving. I listen, waiting. It happens again. Two seconds later, a small white fluff of fur appears in the doorway. Startling blue eyes blink at me.

It takes me a minute, but then I realize what I’m looking at. It’s a cat. A kitten really. Small and furry.

Stepping closer, I freeze when another kitten prowls into the open door. Then I do a double take. The second fluff of fur is identical to the first, down to the intelligence brimming behind shining blue eyes.

A funny feel takes hold of me as I stand in the hall staring at them. They both sit, blocking the door.

Okay … synchronized sitting.

That’s cool.

One blinks.

Then the other.

Suddenly, I feel like I’m falling into a dark tunnel. I try to snap out of it, but I can’t bring myself to look away.

I’m stuck. Falling deeper.

“What are you looking at?”

Jumping out of my skin, I press a hand to my chest.

“You scared me,” I hiss.

At least he broke the weird identical kitten hypnosis that was happening.

“Sorry.”

I point toward Lucy’s bedroom.

“Cats.”

“Oh, cute.” Simon steps toward them. As if on cue, their tails swish. Left. Then right. And back to left. He pauses, looking to where I’m frozen in place. “Did you not know she had cats?”

I look to the cats, getting a weird murder-y twin vibe from them. Any second now, they’ll start meowing redrum at me.

“No.” I shake my head. Simon’s brows pull together as he studies the tail-twitching fluffs of fur.

“You really think they’re cute?” I don’t. Not at all. They’re creepy times one hundred, and I can’t put my finger on why exactly. A full-body shudder rolls through me, and I carefully slink forward.

It feels weird to go in Lucy’s bedroom without her here, plus I’m not sure I’d be welcome by the feline security guards, so I bypass it and head to the end of the hall where her office is. The door is shut as usual.

Come to think of it, I’ve never been in this room.

I hesitate with my hand on the knob. Simon steps up behind me, the warmth from his body invading all my space.

“Do you mind?” I lean away from him, huffing. The last thing I need is his muscles and yummy smell clouding my already crazy brain.

“What are you waiting for?”

Dropping my hand, I turn just enough to see him over my shoulder. I’m not sure what I expected to find by coming here. Signs of a struggle? Maybe. A clue to tell me where my friend is? Probably. But now that we’re here in her space without her permission and her two weird cats are staring at me, I kind of want to leave.

“I don’t know. The cats freaked me out. Okay?” I hiss at him.

I push the door open, and something whispers through the air. Another chill rips down my spine, and I stop where I am.

“Did you hear that?” I ask. Simon’s forehead wrinkles, but he shakes his head.

I frown and listen for it again. But nothing happens.

I’m seriously losing it.

With Simon hot on my heels, I make my way into Lucy’s office.

It looks normal in here too. More oils. Lucy’s laptop. Crystals litter the windowsill. I pick up a pretty purple one and take a deep breath, rubbing my fingers over the surface. Something about it soothes me.

Across the room, a bookcase takes up an entire wall.

There’s nothing in here that’s going to put me at ease. Nothing stands out. Nothing holds the answer I’m looking for.

Simon holds a leather-bound book in his hand. “I think your friend is a witch.”

“What? No.” A laugh bubbles up.

“This is a spell book.” He gestures my way with the book in his hand. He grabs something else from the shelf, holding it up. “This is sage.” He gestures to the three mason jars filling the shelf next to him. “That’s moon water.”

“Okay, but that’s not a … real thing.” My lips roll inward. Is it?

“You think ghosts are real but not witches?” he asks.

My hands go to my hips. “I never said I think ghosts are real.”

“You don’t think ghosts are real?” He frowns. “Why did you agree to work with me?”

My mouths opens, but I’m at a loss for what to say. It’s clear he really believes in all this supernatural stuff, but I don’t know what I really think.

Witches?

“This was dumb. I don’t know why I wanted to come here again,” I blurt, overwhelmed by everything happening.

He’s giving me a look. One I’ve seen a lot lately. One that says he’s not quite sure what to think of me.

BOOK TOUR & GIVEAWAY ~ Tell Me You Love Me by Kathleen Stone

Tell Me You Love Me
by Kathleen Stone
Genre: Contemporary Fiction

What would you sacrifice to protect someone you love?

In 1965 April Toulane’s life is turned upside down on her fifth birthday when her mother marries a man she’s known for only two weeks. The life she’d known is forever changed with the addition of a stepfather and a five-year-old stepbrother who terrorizes her on a daily basis. After a family tragedy the young siblings are thrust into the Hollywood spotlight, surrounded by people whose very foundation is based on secrets and lies. Struggling to grow up and find their way in a world where child stars are forever manipulated and exploited, the siblings form an unbreakable bond vowing to always protect each other when the adults entrusted to take care of them fail at every turn. “Tell Me You Love Me” is the story of April and Auggie Fairbanks, the most sought after faces in show business throughout the sixties and seventies, maneuvering their way through the lies and corruption to learn the truth about their parents and searching for the love and acceptance they so desperately crave.

I don’t remember my father. He died shortly after my birth in 1960 and my mother took that as license to pretend he never existed. Sometimes I fantasized that I was the product of magic, or that I would grow up to be a fairy princess, or perhaps a world-renowned dragon trainer. And on my fifth birthday she turned my world upside down by marrying a somewhat older man she’d known for two weeks. His name was Clark Fairbanks, and with him came his five-year-old son, August.
It was a simple ceremony at the courthouse, and my mother looked beautiful in her light blue dress with matching jacket and pumps. Her short blonde hair was topped with a pillbox hat adorned with a small, pearl accented veil and she wore just the right shade of pink lipstick. Clark was dressed in a fancy black suit, his son August dressed the same, but I paid little attention to them as I only had eyes for my mother. I had never seen her look so happy before. She had a glow radiating from her face that I knew I didn’t put there. Even at five years old I knew this man must have been something special, but I was far too young to understand. All I knew was my intimate family of two had increased to four — including two males no less — and I felt like I was adrift at sea never to find shore again.
Clark took all of us out to a fancy restaurant for lunch after he and my mother were married and I sat rigid in my chair, trying to keep the itchy material of my brand new dress from scratching my skin every time I moved. August was sitting across from me and had not spoken a single word. His short, dark blond hair was combed neatly away from his face, revealing a spray of freckles over his nose. He scowled at me, his piercing blue eyes sending chills over my skin. Suddenly he kicked his leg out under the table, connecting with my shin and sending me into meltdown mode. I began to cry in that silent way you know a child is in true distress, tears streaming down my cheeks but no sound coming out of my mouth.
“Shut up, crybaby,” August mocked me.
Clark immediately grabbed him by the scruff of the neck and hissed, “Auggie, you apologize this instant!”
He continued to scowl at me but said nothing. Clark stood up and yanked him off his chair, disappearing. My mother pulled me into her arms and petted my hair lovingly.
“He’s confused, April,” she said. “Just like you are. We’ll get through this. We’re a family now.”
The shock and pain of his kick subsided a bit and I found my vocal cords once again. “He’s mean, Mommy, I don’t like him,” I cried.
“You only met him an hour ago,” she said, wiping my tears away with a napkin. “I promise it’ll get better.”
I was still sniffling when Clark returned with a red-faced August, who stood in front of me and said, “I’m sorry.”
“What are you sorry for, Auggie?” Clark asked.
“I’m sorry I kicked you,” he grumbled.
I just nodded acceptance and hugged my knees to my chest, having no idea what else to do. My mother immediately pushed my legs down and reminded me I was wearing a dress. Clark and August returned to their chairs and I continued to pick at the food on my plate, not interested in any of it.
After lunch we were whisked away to Clark’s expansive estate in Beverly Hills, our new home. Clark and my mother each held one of my hands as they led me through the house to my bedroom, which not only housed the few personal items from our old apartment, but dolls, toys and clothes beyond my wildest imagination. I was far too young to understand any of it and I just wanted to go back to our apartment and play in my old room. No Clark. No August.
It had been a long, exhausting day, and my mother and I were finally alone when she got me ready for bed that evening. She tucked me into bed and kissed my forehead and I asked, “Mommy, when are we going home?”
“This is our new home, honey,” she replied with a smile. “Clark and August are our new family now.”
I looked around my new bedroom with wide eyes; everything looked disproportionately huge in my young mind, with frightening windows and drapes and doors that looked like they wanted to trap me inside without a way of escape.
“I don’t like it here,” I whispered, terrified.
“It’ll be strange for a while, but I promise everything will be all right,” she insisted. “Clark is a very nice man and he’s going to take care of us.”
I burst into tears and my mother pulled me into her arms, caressing my hair and promising that everything was going to be okay.
