Book Tour & Giveaway ~ The Child of Happiness by S.V. Cobets

The Child of Happiness
by S.V. Cobets
Genre: Poetry

Edited version

This collection of poetry is a summary of my selected poems that I wrote for many years. I hope that you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoyed writing them. In this collection of poetry are collected all of my feelings that I want to share with you through verse.

"The Child of Happiness, by S.V. Cobets, is a beautiful poetry collection that reaches deep into the soul. Though the author’s native language is Croatian and not English, the emotional depth of each poem comes across clearly and will be relatable across cultures. Sensual and light with themes of nature & love, yet also tinged with feelings of sadness and darker themes of heartache, pain, loss, & the casualties of war - there were many poems that spoke to my heart."

Excerpt

Not A Care To Fall

Dedicated to the city of Wichita Falls, Texas

I am in sorrow
I am in pain
I'm all alone
They're all insane
Here in the city
The city of the falls
The city that's fallen
The city that falls
It's depressing
It's despair
It's dislike
In this city
This city of falls
There's nothing to do
There's nothing to play
There's nothing to say
And I always pay
There's no one here
No one but nobodies
And all the nobodies
Don't care
They think that they're somebody
Of this city
This city of nothing
This city of fallen hell
I want to go
I want to live
I want to die
I want to leave
I am in sorrow
I am in pain
I'm all alone
And no one seems to care
I'm tired of this world
This world of damnation
This world of despair
I just don't give a care
Not anymore
It's too damn depressing
The lies they tell
The games they play
In our heads
I'm tired of the lies
The uncare
The despair
The eyes
The trips
The rips
The tares
The dares
I just don't care
All I want is to die
To live!

Dancing doesn't come easily to everyone and can be very tiring, but thankfully we have a Partner to catch us when we fall--to pick us up, wipe off the dirt, and proclaim He is captivated with us even when we fall. This book of poetry will encourage you to allow your heart to feel. After all, the depths to which we choose to feel are the depths to which we can love and receive love.

A Reason to Be

Poetry has always been my therapy
When I’m overwhelmed and frustrated
I take my pen
I bleed out my thoughts
Sometimes I feel like I’ve had enough
But when does it end?
I’m torn
I’m broken
I’ve healed over and over
I sit here on this couch alone
I wish there was someone who could help me
If anyone wanted to really know me
My words give you everything
Day by day
I hold on to something
I can’t give up
They count on me
So many surround me
They don’t see
The years go by
I’m stuck in uncertainty
I want something more
These words are mine
I can’t deny them
Poetry has given me a reason
To breathe

Ella Rye grew up in small-town California. She grew up loving words. An avid reader from a young age. During her teen years, she developed a love for poetry and began writing. The words flowed out of her naturally, never even really knowing the type of poetry she was writing. Over the years, poetry helped her throughout her life. It was therapeutic, and now she hopes that her poetry can help those who are going or have gone through the same things. Love and heartbreak have always been a major theme.
